    1/2 cup  butter
    1 cup  brown sugar
    1/4 cup  milk
      Powdered sugar

Melt butter, stir in brown sugar, cook over low heat 2 minutes stirring constantly. Stir in milk. Bring to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Set pan in cold water. When you can hold your hand on the bottom of the pan, the syrup is cool enough. Blend in 3/4 - 2 cups sifted powdered sugar. Put pan in ice water. Beat until thick enough to spread. Add more sugar if too thin or water if too thick.
