1/2 cup | sugar |
3 Tblsp | flour |
1 Tblsp | cornstarch |
1/4 tsp | salt |
1 1/2 cup | milk |
3 | egg yolks, slightly beaten |
1 tblsp | butter |
1 tsp | vanilla |
Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch, salt in top of double boiler over rapidly boiling water so pan is touching water, mixing with wooden spoon. Blend milk in gradually. Add egg yolks. Add butter, cook until thick and smooth about 7 minutes stirring constantly.
Note: Quantites may be doubled
