16. Potato Cutlets (Alu tikki-Nepali)

2 cups | potatoes, boiled and mashed |
1 | onion, (big) finely chopped |
1 clove | garlic, (finely chopped) |
1 tablespoon gram | flour, (besan) or bread crumbs |
1/2 teaspoon | cumin seeds, (jira) |
Salt to taste | |
1/2 teaspoon | mixed spices, (garam masala) |
1/2 teaspoon | mango powder or l, 2 lemon juice |
1 tablespoon | chopped coriander leaves |
1/2 teaspoon | chilli powder or 1 green chilli, (optional) |
Ghiu for deep frying |
Utensils bowl-1, deep frying saucepan-1, plate-1, flat perforated
Process the in the potato. Shape into balls or oval tiblets. Dip them in gram flour paste (put water to make) or bread crumbs. Heat ghiu and fry till brown on both Serve hot with sauce.
Serves 4 servings (2 each)
Note. Instead of gram flour or bread crumbs, egg can also be. Beat the eggs and dip the cutlets in egg and fry.
