Tonkatsu Sauce

3 medium | onions, thinly sliced |
2 teaspoon | oil |
1 cup | dashi stock, (1/2 teaspoon dashi plus 1 cup water) |
4 tablespoons | mirin |
4 tablespoons | soy sauce |
4 teaspoons | sugar |
2 | eggs, lightly beaten (optional) |
Saute onion in oil. Remove and set aside
Add dashi, mirin, soy, and sugar. Simmer over high heat 5 minutes. Add onions, remove from heat. Add eggs, stir gently. Serve with Tonkatsu.
