Meatball Sandwich The Chew MOHAMMED ABUALI [Guest Recipe] Meatball Sandwich ingredients MEATBALL SANDWICH
    8 ounces  ground beef
    8 ounces  ground lamb
    1  yellow onion, (finely chopped)
    2 cloves  garlic, (finely chopped)
    1 teaspoon  fresh oregano, (chopped)
    1/4 cup  fresh parsley, (chopped)
    1 tablespoon  turmeric
    1/2 teaspoon  grated nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon  cayenne pepper
    1 teaspoon  cumin
    1  egg
      salt
      black pepper to taste
4 Portuguese rolls Yogurt Sauce
    2 cups  Greek yogurt
    1 cup  shredded Persian cucumbers
      dried mint
    2 tablespoons  fresh parsley, (chopped)

step-by-step directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Combine all of the meatball ingredients in a large bowl. Shape into balls, about the size of golf balls. Place meatballs on a dish, cover and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs in batches to the skillet. Cook until a golden-brown crust forms. Do not cook all the way through. Add all the meatballs back to the skillet and place in the oven to finish cooking for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, make the yogurt sauce. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Remove meatballs from oven and build sandwich. Put a few meatballs inside a warmed roll and top with yogurt sauce.
