Curried potato and pea soup

2 tbsp | butter |
1/2 lb | yellow potatoes 1 1/2 cups cubed |
1/2 cup | onion diced |
1 tbsp | garlic minced |
2 Tbsp | Flour |
1 Tbsp | curry |
1 tsp | garam masala |
Pinch | red pepper flakes |
2 cups | chicken broth |
1 cup | whole milk |
2 tsp | sugar |
1 cup | frozen peas |
Juice of 1/2 | lime |
Salt to taste | |
Plain yogurt | |
Fresh cilantro |
1. Sauté potatoes, onion and garlic in butter in a large saucepan over med heat.cook until onion is soft about 5 min.
2. Stir in flour, curry and garam. Sauté 30 sec stirring constantly then add broth and milk and sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to med-low cover and simmer stirring occasionally. Cook til potatoes are tender about 15 min. Then add peas and simmer 5 more min. Finish with lime juice and salt
3. Garnish with yogurt and cilantro.
