Total time:
Source:
1 bottle | red wine, (Cab,Merlot, Zin) 1 lemon, 1 orange, 1 lime cut into wedges |
1 cup | diced pineapple, (small can ok if dont want to cut up fresh) |
2 T | sugar Splash of orange juice 2 shots of vodka, gin or rum |
1 cup | sliced strawberries or raspberries 4 cups ginger ale |
Pour wine into pitcher and squeeze the juice out of fruit wedges( try to avoid seeds) into the wine, then drop wedges in. Add pineapple, sugar, orange juice and booze.
Stir well, then refrigerate overnight(20-24 hours is best to allow flavors to marinate into each other).
Tips: use a tangy red wine, not a sweet wine- don't spend a lot on other ingredients- will mask wine. Prepare in large enough container to allow space for ice to be about 1/3 of the final volume. Use your favorite booze, as alcohol will be slightly noticeable as aftertaste. Add strawberries or raspberries at last minute before serving as they become soggy very fast.
