<RecipeText>Maraschino cherries to decorate

Method
Cream softened butter. Beat in sugar and egg. In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together and stir into the creamed mixture gradually. Add vanilla.
Roll the dough out thin (1/4 inch) on a floured surface and cut into desired size circles.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes, (don&apos;t let the edges get brown)
Cool on wire racks

When cool make a sandwich using a dollop of jam.
For glaze, combine icing sugar with milk. Ice the tops of cookies and decorate with a piece of cherry.
