2 cups | almonds, chopped |
8 ounces | milk chocolate bar, grated |
1 pound | butter, not margarine |
2 cups | sugar |
On a 10" x 15" jelly roll pan, spread half of the almonds.
Cover the almonds with half of the grated chocolate.
Place butter and sugar into a 12 cup glass bowl. Microwave on high (100%) for two minutes to soften butter.
Wisk to blend butter and sugar. Continue to microwave on high for four minutes. Wjisk to homogenize.
Microwave for eight to twelve more minutes, stirring only as necessary to even out the color, until mixture is a rich golden brown (305 degrees on a candy thermometer.
Carefully pour candy mixture over chocolate and almonds. Sprinkle remaining chocolate and almonds over hot candy mixture, gently pressing chocolate and almonds into candy
Score candy while still warm. Cool, then break into pieces. Store in an airtingt container.
