½ cup | Crisco |
1 tsp. | vanilla |
1-1/2 cups | white Karo syrup |
2-1/4 cups | cake flour |
2 | eggs |
½ cup | sweet, (as opposed to buttermilk) milk |
2 level tsp. baking powder | |
¼ tsp. | salt |
Cream Crisco and Karo together. Add eggs, unbeaten. Beat well. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add mild, little at a time and also add flour. Add vanilla, and cook in layers.
