Irish slow cooker oatmeal

3 cups | water |
1 cup | Irish oats, (steel cut oats) |
1 cup | milk |
1/4 tsp | nutmeg |
Pinch | salt |
1/4 | dried chopped cherries |
Maple syrup and butter for topping
Fill a slow cooker halfway up with water. In a metal bowl that fits suggley in the slow cooker but doesn't touch the bottom combine water, oats, milk, nutmeg and salt. Place bowl in slow cooker and cover. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. Stir in cherries for the last 10 min. Serve with butter and maple syrup.
