Turtle Cake

1 | chocolate cake mix |
1 14 ounce bag | carmels |
1/2 cup | evaporated milk |
1 stick | butter |
1 cup | walnuts, chopped |
1 cup | chocolate chips |
1 carton | cool whip |
Mix cake to package directions. Pour 1/2 batter into a 9 by 13 pan. Bake for 15 minutes. While baking melt carmels, evaporated milk and butter. Pour mixture over baked cake.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over mixture. Pour the rest of batter on top and bake for 20 to 25 miutes. Frost with cool whip.
