Cake base | |
yellow cake mix | |
2 | eggs |
½ cup | butter |
1 tablespoon | milk |
½ cup | pecans, chopped |
Topping | |
1 8-ounce package | cream cheese, softened |
2 | eggs |
3½ cups | confectioners' sugar |
1 teaspoon | vanilla |
Preheat oven to 350?F. Grease 13x9x2-inch pan. Set aside.
Cake base: Combine cake mix, eggs, butter, milk, and nuts in a large bowl. Mix with fork or at low speed of electric mixer until cake mix is just moistened. Turn into pan and spread evenly.
Topping: Beat cream cheese in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth. Add eggs, sugar, and vanilla, beat until smooth. Spread evenly over base.
Bake at 350?F for 35 minutes. Squares will be light brown and have a slightly shiny top). Cool completely and cut into squares. I like to refrigerate these to store.
*If you would like a little more chocolate in your life (and who wouldn't!!), just substitute devil's food cake mix for the yellow cake mix for the base.
