Bacon Wrapped Water-Chestnuts | |
3-4 Small Cans | WHOLE Water-Chestnuts, (make sure not to get sliced water-chestnuts they won't really work) |
1 1lb Package | Bacon, (regular bacon works best not thick cut) |
1 Large Jar | BBQ Sauce, ( I use Open Pit but use your favorite) |
Toothpicks | |
9x | 13 Baking Dish |
- Preheat over to 350
- Cut each bacon strip in 3 pieces
- Drain water-chestnuts
- Start wrapping, one piece of bacon to one water-chestnut. Once wrapped stick a toothpick through to hold bacon in place, don't stick all the way through or they won't sit flat in the baking dish
- Place them in the baking dish
- Bake for 40 minutes (I usually drain off the fat a few times during the 40 minutes)
- Take out of oven and pour BBQ sauce over (I think the more the better)
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes
- Last step try not to eat all of them before you get to your party!
TIPS:
- You can make them a head of time and refrigerate them even over-night and then cook the next day.
- After cooking you can keep warm in a crock pot I would just pour a little extra sauce over them so them don't get dry.
