| 3 1/4 cup | all-purpose flour |
| 3/4 tsp | baking soda |
| 3/4 (1 1/2 sticks) | butter |
| 1/2 cup | dark-brown sugar |
| 1 tbsp | ginger |
| 1 tbsp | cinnamon |
| 1/2 tsp | cloves |
| 1/2 tsp | nutmeg |
| 1/4 tsp | blk pepper |
| 1/2 tsp | salt |
| 1 | egg |
| 1/2 cup | molasses |
| ICING: | |
| 1 | egg white |
| 1/2 tsp | lemon juice |
| Beat egg white and lemon juice first till "stiff peaks" | |
| 1 3/4 cup | confectioners sugar |
1. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda and spices
2. To butter, add sugar and beat till fluffy
3. Mix in eggs and molasses
4. Gradually add the flour mixture
Divide into 3rds ---- refrigerate
Bake on 350* on ungreased pan 8-10 minutes
