7 cups | water |
2 cups | dry green split peas |
1 | carrot chopped |
1 | onion diced |
2 small cloves | garlic pressed |
1/2 teaspoon | dried basil |
1/4 teaspoon | dried oregano |
1/4 teaspoon | parsley |
1 | bay leaf |
Combine water and split peas in a saucepan Cook on medium heat for twenty minutes add remaining ingredients then reduce heat and simmer for thirty minutes mire. Serve with Italian bread
