| 1c. | Shortening, (part butter) |
| 1 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 2 | eggs |
| 2 3/4 cup | flour |
| 2 tsp | cream of tartar |
| 1 tsp | baking soda |
| 1/4 tsp | salt |
| 2 T. | Sugar |
| 2 tsp | cinnamon |
| 1 tsp | vanilla |
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cream shortening, 1 1/2 c sugar and eggs. Blend flour, cream of tartar, soda & salt. Add to first mixture. Roll in mixture of cinnamon & sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes. Cookies will puff up at first and then flatten out. Makes about 6 dozen.
