1 1/2 lb (750 g) | beef stew meat |
1/2 cup (125 mL) | chopped onion |
1/2 cup (125 mL) | uncooked medium barley |
1 carton (900 mL) | beef broth |
3/4 cup (175 mL) | water |
1 tsp (5 mL) | dried thyme leaves |
1 tsp (5 mL) | dried marjoram leaves |
1/2 tsp (2 mL) | salt |
1/4 tsp (1 mL) | pepper |
2 cups (500 mL) Green Giant* Frozen Mixed Vegetables
Method:
Cut beef into bite-size pieces if desired. In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except mixed vegetables.
Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
Stir in mixed vegetables. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook 20 to 30 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
For this recipe you'll need Mixed VegetablesSuccess : Stew meat pieces vary in size from store to store. If the pieces are large, cut them in half.
