Come home to a bowl of steaming, delicious soup. A few minutes of prep is all that's needed for this fix-it-and-forget-it meal. PREP TIME: 20 MINS | TOTAL TIME: 8 HRS 50 MINS | MAKES: 8 cups Ingredients:
    1 1/2 lb (750 g)  beef stew meat
    1/2 cup (125 mL)  chopped onion
    1/2 cup (125 mL)  uncooked medium barley
    1 carton (900 mL)  beef broth
    3/4 cup (175 mL)  water
    1 tsp (5 mL)  dried thyme leaves
    1 tsp (5 mL)  dried marjoram leaves
    1/2 tsp (2 mL)  salt
    1/4 tsp (1 mL)  pepper

2 cups (500 mL) Green Giant* Frozen Mixed Vegetables
Method:

Cut beef into bite-size pieces if desired. In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except mixed vegetables.
Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
Stir in mixed vegetables. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook 20 to 30 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
For this recipe you'll need Mixed VegetablesSuccess : Stew meat pieces vary in size from store to store. If the pieces are large, cut them in half.
