    2 1/4 tsp  yeast
    1/4 c  warm water
    1/3 c  sugar
    1/4 c  butter
    1 tsp  salt
    1 c  scalded milk
    1  beaten egg
    4 1/2 c  flour

Scald milk. Mix in butter, salt and sugar. Let cool. Add yeast to warm water. When milk mixture has cooled to warm mix into yeast and water. Mix in beaten egg. Add flour 1 cup at a time until dough is barely sticky. Let raise until double in size (about 1 1/2 hrs.). Form dough into balls and place on greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Let raise until double in size (about 45 min.). Bake in oven at 375* for 18 min.
