    1/2 cup  brown sugar
    1/4 cup  light oil
    3  egg whites
    1/4 cup  chopped dried figs
    1/4 cup  dried cranberries
    1 tsp  vanilla
    1 cup  all purpose flour
    1/2 cup  whole wheat flour
    1/2 cup  bran flakes
    2 tbsp  ground flax seeds
    1/2 tsp  baking soda
    1/4 tsp  cinnamon
    1/4 tsp  ground allspice
    1/4 cup  slivered almonds

1) preheat oven to 350 degrees
2) combine sugar, oil, and egg whites in large bowl. Stir in dried nuts and vanilla
3) lipghtly spoon all purpose flour into and level with a knife combine whole wheat flour, bran, baking soda, flax seed and spices stirwith a whisk
4) add flour mixture, stirring until just combined fold in almonds
5) drop by tbsp full onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper bake for 12 minutes Let cool vanilla
