German Red Cabbage

|3 tablespoons||bacon drippings|
|6 cups||red cabbage, shredded|
|2 medium||apple, peeled and chopped|
|1/3 cup||onion, finely chopped|
|1/4 cup||packed brown sugar|
|1/3 cup||wine vinegar|
|1 1/2 teaspoons||salt|
|1 teaspoon||caraway seed|
Combine all ingredients in 2-1/2 quart casserole. Cover.
Microwave for 8 minutes on HIGH. Stir well and continue cooking for 8-9 minutes, on HIGH, or until cabbage is tender-crisp. Let stand, covered, 2 minutes before serving.
