| 1 cup | butter |
| 1 cup | shortening |
| 2 cup | sugar |
| 3 | eggs |
| 5 cups | flour |
| 1 teaspoon | baking soda |
| 1 1/2 teaspoon | vanilla |
| Pinch | salt |
Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs well beaten. Add vanilla beat more. Mix dry ingredients add slowly to cream mixture, then beat well. Roll out and bake at 325 degrees until lightly brown around edges.
