|¾ cup||dried Egyptian brown beans or fava beans, soaked overnight|
|2||garlic cloves, crushed and chopped|
|2 tablespoons||ground cumin|
|4 tablespoon||parsley, fresh, chopped|
Bring twice the volume of water to beans to a boil and add the beans. Simmer for 1 ½ to 2 hours, until the beans are soft, but not falling apart-the precise time will depend on the size and age of the beans. Add salt and a little boiling water, if needed, but the finished mixture should not be too soupy
Put the garshises in a small bowls so that your guests can season to taste.
