    1/2 Cup  chopped walnuts
    1/2 Cup  butter
    3/4 Cup  sugar
    2 Cups  flour
    2  Eggs
    1 Tsp.  vanilla
    1 1/2 Tsp.  almond extract
    1 1/2 Tsp.  baking powder
    1 1/2 Tsp.  salt

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and almond extract. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Fold in the walnuts. Divide dough into 1/2. Place on a greased cookie sheet and form 2 logs about a 1/2 inch thick and 1 1/2 inches wide and 12" long, spacing them about 2" apart. Bake in the middle of the oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer them to a cooling rack and let cool for 5 minutes. Place them on cutting broad and cut on a diagonal slant about 1/2 inch thick. Lay flat on baking sheet and return to oven for 10 minutes. Turning them over once to dry slightly, then let cool.
