Karen's Chocolate Chip Cookies

2/3 C | butter |
1/2 C. | sugar |
1/2 C. | brown sugar |
1 1/2 C | flour |
1 tsp | vanilla |
1 | egg |
1 tsp | soda |
1/2 tsp | salt |
6 oz. | chocolate chips |
Mix as for regular cookies (cream butter, add sugar, add egg; sift dry ingredients and add)
Add an extra 1/4-1/2 cup flour to make a stiff dough. Roll into balls, freeze, or bake at 375 for 8-12 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool on rack. Makes 6-7 very large cookies. I usually double this (13 large cookies).
