Baked beans

2 1/2 c | navy beans |
1/4 c | molasses |
1/2 c | ketchup |
1/2 lb | salt pork |
1 1/4 tsp | salt |
3/4 tsp | dry mustard |
1 | onion sliced |
1/4 c | brown sugar |
Wash beans and in large pot cover with water 3 x depth of beans.
Let stand overnight.
Boil beans until they crack.
Drain and save liquid.
In pot, bury cubed pork in beans.
Mix molasses, ketchup, salt, mustard, and brown sugar.
Pour over beans.
Top with onions and bacon.
Cover and bake 6 to 8 hours in 300 degree oven.
Add saved liquid as needed.
Uncover last 30 minutes.
