      Arrange in 4 layers in 2 quart casserole 4 cups thinly sliced pared potatoes.
Sprinkle each of the first 3 layers with:
    1 tablespoon  flour
    1 tablespoon  minced onion
    1/4 teaspoon  salt
    dash  pepper

Dot each layer with 1 tablespoon butter
Sprinkle top layer with 1 tablespoon minced onion, 1/4 teaspoon salt, dash of pepper and 1 tablespoon butter.
Pour over 2 1/2 cup hot milk. Bake covered 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 1 hour further.
