0.25 kg (1/2 lb) | pitted dates, chopped |
1/4 lb | onions, chopped |
93.75 g (3 oz) | raisins |
31.25 g (0.08 cup) | palm sugar |
1/2 tbsp | salt |
3/4 tsp | garam masala |
1/8 tsp | chilli powder |
3/4 tsp | mustard seeds, pounded coarsely |
1/4 litre (1 cups) | white vinegar |
1 Put all the above ingredients into a thick-bottomed pan and cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes or until the chutney thickens.
2 Cool it thoroughly and store in sterilised jars.
3 Serve with any of the bread dishes or rice dishes.
