CAKE
    2 1/4 cup  water, boiling
    3/4 cup  butter
    1 7/8 cup  oatmeal, old fashioned, uncooked
    2 1/4 cup  all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 cup  sugar
    1 1/2 cup  brown sugar, firmly packed
    3  eggs
    3 tsp  vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp  salt
    1 1/2 tsp  cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp  baking soda
TOPPING (Original recipe called for 1/2 of frosting recipe listed here)
    2/3 c  butter
    2 c  coconut
    2 c  pecans, (finely chopped)
    1 1/2 c  brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/2 c  evaporated milk

Directions
1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Prepare 9x13 pan by greasing and flouring it.
2. Pour boiling water over butter and oatmeal and set aside for 20 minutes.
2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
3. Pour in greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 40 minutes.
4. For Topping: Combine frosting ingredients in saucepan and heat and mix ingredients until butter melts. Frost cake when you take it out of the oven, and broil until the top is brown. (Watch it carefully so it doesn't burn.)
