57. Bottle Gourd(Lauka-Nepali)

|Gourd or lauka is easy to digest and given for those whose digestion is weak.|
|4 cups||peeled, chopped gourd|
|1 tablespoon||mustard oil|
|1/2 teaspoon||cumin seed|
|Pinch of asafoetida (hing)|
|1/2 teaspoon||mixed spices, (garam masala)|
|chopped coriander leaves|
Utensils Saucepan with lid (or pressure cooker-l, ladle-l, plate-1, big ?-2.
Heat oil till it smokes. Fry asafoetida and cumin seeds. Add turmeric powder, gourd and salt. Stir it and allow it to cook for 5 minutes. Add water, cook 1.5 minutes till it becomes tender. Add mixed spices (garam masala). Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Preparation time: 20-2-5 minutes
Yield: 4 servings
