Gourd or lauka is easy to digest and given for those whose digestion is weak. | |
4 cups | peeled, chopped gourd |
1 tablespoon | mustard oil |
1/2 teaspoon | turmeric |
1/2 teaspoon | cumin seed |
3/4 teaspoon | salt |
Pinch of asafoetida (hing) | |
1/2 teaspoon | mixed spices, (garam masala) |
1 cup | water |
chopped coriander leaves |
Utensils Saucepan with lid (or pressure cooker-l, ladle-l, plate-1, big ?-2.
Process
Heat oil till it smokes. Fry asafoetida and cumin seeds. Add turmeric powder, gourd and salt. Stir it and allow it to cook for 5 minutes. Add water, cook 1.5 minutes till it becomes tender. Add mixed spices (garam masala). Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Preparation time: 20-2-5 minutes
Yield: 4 servings
