12 oz. | grated sharp Cheddar cheese |
8 | eggs, beaten |
3 c. | milk |
1/2 tsp. | dry mustard, (optional) |
1 tsp. | Worcestershire sauce, (optional) |
1 lb. | sausage |

1/4 c. | butter, (optional) |
Trim crusts from bread and cut or tear into bite-sized pieces. Put bread in 9x13 inch casserole that has been sprayed with a non-stick coating. Sprinkle cheese on top. Break up sausage and put on top of cheese.
Combine eggs, milk and seasonings. Slowly pour over casserole. Dot with butter. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
For a lower calorie version, any of the following may be done: Precook the sausage and drain; use light bread, use lowfat cheese, use skim milk, eliminate or use half the amount of butter.
