We asked Drinks Editor Jim Meehan to come up with something ghoulishly boozy for our Halloween cocktail spread. The punch he created is autumn in a glass, with notes of pumpkin and apple—and can serve a gaggle of ghouls. Two 12-ounce bottles | Captain Lawrence Pumpkin Ale |
2¼ cups | apple brandy, (preferably Laird's Bonded Apple Brandy) |
¾ cup | dark rum,, (preferably Smith & Cross Rum) |
¾ cup | fresh lime juice, strained |
¾ cup | fresh orange juice, strained |
¾ cup | Grade B maple syrup |
Cinnamon stick, for garnish | |
Ice block, for serving |
DIRECTIONS
Combine the beer, brandy, rum, lime juice, orange juice and maple syrup in a punch bowl and chill in the refrigerator. To serve, mix in the cinnamon and add the ice block to the bowl. Ladle from the punch bowl into cups filled with ice.
