Irresistible Irish soda bread

3 cups | flour |
1 tablespoon | baking powder |
1/3 cup | sugar |
1 tsp | salt |
1 1/2 cups | raisins |
1 teaspoon | baking soda |
1 | egg, lightly beaten |
2 cups | buttermilk |
1/4 cup | butter, melted |
1- preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9x 5 inch loaf pan.
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda In a bowl.
Add raisins.
Whisk together egg, and buttermilk and pour into flour mixture, mixing just until moistened. Stir in butter and pour into prepared pan.
2- bake until a toothpick inserted in bread comes out clean, 65-70 minutes. Cool completely on wire rack. Wrap in foil and leave at room temperature for at least 3 hours or overnight
