5 Spice Honey Chicken

This is a very simple dish to cook and goes really well with warm rice. Ingredients : | |
1 pound | chicken meat- thinly slice |
1 clove | garlic, chopped |
4 | shallots, sliced |
2" of ginger - sliced thinly | |
3 small | chillies, chopped |
5 dried chillies - soak and cut about 1/2" Marinate : | |
1 tsp | 5 spice powder |
2 tbsp | honey |
2 tsp | oyster sauce |
1 tbsp | black soy sauce |
2 tbsp | light soy sauce |
1 tbsp | cooking wine, (optional) |
1) Cut chicken meat into bite size pieces and marinate the chicken for at least an hour.
2) Heat up wok with some oil stir fry garlic, shallots, ginger and chillies for a minute.
3) Add in marinated chicken and stir fry for a few second. Cover it and simmer and stir occasionally till the dish dries up and chicken it cook.
4) Dish out and serve with warm rice.
Note : You might need to add a bit of water if the dish gets too dry before the chicken is cook.
