Fried Green Tomatoes

2c | whole buttermilk |
2 lg | eggs |
Mix together. Dredge- | |
2 c | self rising flour |
1 c | medium stoneground cornmeal |
1/2 t | garlic powder |
1/2 t | onion powder |
Salt | |
pepper |
Place sliced tomatoes in colander, salt lightly and let sit about 5 mins. Rinse under cool water and at dry wer towels.
Working one at a rime, completely coat ea tomato slice in the wash and then the dredge.
Heat 2 c canola oil and 1 stock butter to 350. Turn down heat to stabilize.
Fry tomatoes, working 3 at a time.
