Found this recipe in an old cookbook about 40 years ago. I have perfected like I wanted it and now it does taste really good on a hot summer day. Ingredients | |
16 oz. | elbow macaroni |
1 C. | Miracle Whip |
1/2 C. | mayonnaise |
1 Tbs. | cider vinegar |
1/2 tsp. | lemon juice |
1 Tbs. | sugar |
1 tsp. | salt |
1/2 tsp. | pepper |
1 cup | green & red peppers (combined),, seeded and chopped |
1 C. | chopped celery, minced fine |
1 med. | onion, chopped |
1/3 C. | sweet baby gerkins, chopped |
Directions
Cook macaroni acccording to pkg. directions; do not add salt. Drain macaroni in colander and run cold water over it to cool it. Drain throughly.
For the dressing: in a large bowl, mix mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper until well blended. Add cooked macaroni, chopped celery, onions, peppers and pickles. Toss to coat evenly. Refrigerate several hours before serving.
