Homemade Anise Toast, the original Biscotti.
    2 1/2 cups  flour
    1 cup  sugar
    1/2 stick  margarine
    1 tablespoon  anise seeds
    2 teaspoons  baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon  salt
    3  eggs

1. Cream margarine and sugar on medium. Add eggs, until combined. Add 1 ½ cups flour and rest of ingredients.
2. Reduce speed to low and gradually add rest of flour.
3. Wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
4. Preheat to 375
5. Divide into 2 equal pieces and shape into 10 x 3 inch loaves.
6. Bake 25-30 minutes until center set. Remove from over and slice into ¾ inch slices. Bake for 2-5 minutes. Remove. Flip slices. Bake an additional 2-5 minutes.
*** Makes 4 dozen 3 inch cookies ***
