3/4 cup | butter cold, cubed |
1 1/4 cups | flour |
6 1/2 tablespoons | sour cream |
1/2 cup | sugar |
2 1/2 teaspoons | cinnamon |
Colored sugar (optional) 1. In bowl cut butter into flour until resembles course crumbs 2. Stir in sour cream 3. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead 6-8 times until holds together 4. Shape into four balls, flatten slightly, and wrap in plastic 5. Refrigerate for 4 hours or over night 6. Unwrap one ball. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar onto waxed paper and coat ball with sugar (confectionary sugar works better). 7. Roll into 12in x 5 in rectangle 8. Sprinkle dough with ¾ teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon sugar 9. Lightly mark line down center of dough to make 2- 5x6 rectangles. 10. Roll one side and then the other in jell-roll style until they meet at the center line 11. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in freezer for 30 minutes 12. Repeat for remaining balls. 13. Preheat to 375 14. Unwrap one roll, slice into ½ inch slices 15. Dip each side in (colored) sugar 16. Place 2 inches apart on UNGREASED Cookie sheets until golden brown for 9- 12 minutes 17. (can turn cookies, bake 5 minutes longer. I prefer not to.) 18. Remove to wire racks to cool. Need to ateast shift cookies immediately or cannot be removed. |
