Mac and Cheese Burger Bowl

1 lb (500 g) | lean ground beef |
1/2 cup (125 mL) | chopped onion |
3 cups (750 mL) | each hot water and skim milk |
1 pkg (271 g) Hamburger Helper* Cheeseburger Macaroni (Family Size) 2 cups (500 mL) Green Giant* VALLEY SELECTIONS* Frozen Cut Broccoli | |
1 cup (250 mL) | sliced carrots |
1 tsp (5 mL) | dried thyme leaves |
1/4 tsp (1 mL) | pepper |
2 tbsp (25 mL) | chopped fresh parsley |
Shredded low- fat Cheddar cheese, if desired
Method:
Cook beef and onion in Dutch oven or large, deep sauce pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally; drain well.
Stir in hot water, milk, uncooked pasta, sauce mix, broccoli, carrots, thyme and pepper. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Stir in parsley. Garnish with cheese if desired.
For this recipe you'll need Cheeseburger MacaroniTip: Special Touch: Toast slices of bread, then cut with star cookie cutters for topping the soup. Cut cheese slices with the same cutter to top each toast cut out.
