Original Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

| 2 1/4 cups | all-purpose flour |
| 1 tsp | baking soda |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 cup | butter softened |
| 3/4 cup | granulated sugar |
| 3/4 cup | packed brown sugar |
| 1 tsp | vanilla |
| 2 large | eggs |
| 2 cups | semi-sweet chocolate chips |
| 1cup | nuts, (optional) |
Combine flour, soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes. Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.
