Bacon Wrapped Sausage

Bacon Wrapped Sausage | |
1 lb. | bacon, cut in 1/3 pieces |
1 lb. | Conecuh sausage, cut into bite size pieces |
1 stick | butter |
2 cups | brown sugar, separated |
Wrap sausage bites in bacon. Secure with toothpicks and place in baking dish. Melt butter with 1 cup of brown sugar. Sprinkle evenly over sausage. Sprinkle remaining sugar over sausage. Bake at 375 for 15 - 20 minutes. Turn heat to 400 and cook for 5 more minutes or until bacon looks done and crispy.
I substitute oleo for butter and do not measure second cup of brown sugar. Just grab a wad and sprinkle over the sausage.
