This silky sweet icing has a hit of salt and is the perfect melt-in-your-mouth topping for these holiday cookies. Feel free to add any colourings or flavourings you like.
    1 cup (250 mL)  unsalted butter, (softened)
    1 tsp (5 mL)  vanilla
    ½ tsp (2.5 mL)  salt
    4 cups (1L)  icing sugar
    ¼ cup (60 mL)  milk

In large bowl or stand mixer, beat butter until light. Add vanilla, salt, milk and half the icing sugar. Beat until combined. Add remaining sugar and beat until butter-cream is a light icing consistency.

Spread on your sugar cookies once they’ve been baked and cooled.
