1 pint | Oysters |
About 1 & 1/2 quart of Milk | |
Salt | |
Pepper | |
Butter |
I use a crock pot & it cooks stuff pretty hot
Cook the oysters in crock pot on high for 1/2 hour or until you can tell they are cooking pretty good. Usually the oysters shrink and you can smell oysters well
Add milk and cook on high until the milk is hot. Put the lid on while cooking. The milk will form a scum if you don't keep it covered.
Stir it often. When you can tell it is cooking good turn it down on low for the whole afternoon.
Add 1/2 to whole cube of butter and turn it back to high 1/2 hour or so before ready to serve. Add salt and pepper to taste. Should be almost coming to boil to be sure it is really hot.
Is better if you fix it the day before serving it and reheat it to very hot the day you serve it.
