Homemade barbecue sauce is half the price and has half the sodium of store-bought. Plus, it tastes better. With frozen chicken thighs, frozen chopped onions, and shelf staples, you can make this sensational barbecue fast. INGREDIENTS Serves: Prep: 5min Cook: 25min Total: 30min
8 | frozen chicken thighs, thawed and skinned |
1/4 cup | reduced-sodium ketchup |
1 tablespoon | packed brown sugar |
1 tablespoon | cider vinegar |
1 tablespoon | frozen chopped onions, minced |
1 teaspoon | minced garlic |
1/2 teaspoon | hot-pepper sauce |
DIRECTIONS Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cover a large baking sheet with foil. Arrange the chicken on the sheet. In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, onions, garlic, and hot-pepper sauce. Spoon two-thirds of the sauce over the chicken. Bake, basting occasionally with the remaining sauce, for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center. Check by inserting the tip of a sharp knife into the thickest part of 1 thigh. NUTRITIONAL FACTS PER SERVING CALORIES 194.2 CAL
