COTTAGE CHEESE SOURDOUGH PAN ROLLS Dissolve 2 tbl yeast in ½ c warm water In blender whirl 2 cups cottage cheese, 2 cup starter, 2 eggs Combine: | |
4 tsp | baking powder |
½ tsp | soda |
2 tsp | salt |
2 tbl | sugar |
8 cup | flour |
Work in: | |
4 tbl | butter |
Stir in cheese mixture and yeast. Knead and let rise. Divide into 30 pieces. Shape into balls and place in baking pans with sides Or heavy frying pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. | |
SOURDOUGH STARTER | |
2 cup | lukewarm water |
1 tbl | yeast |
2 cup | flour |
1 tsp | salt |
Stir together in non aluminum container
Cover with saran or lid with hole for air
Let sit in warm place for 2 – 3 day
Refrigerate covered with air
To use:
Take out 1 cup starter, 1 cup flour, 1 cup warm water and let sit in warm place 24 hrs before baking recipe.
Return 1 cup to Starter.
Refrigerate and repeat as you use it
If it turns pink or orange toss…gray is okay just stir…
