2 pounds | ground round |
2 (15 ounce) cans | tomato sauce |
2 ( 4 ounce) cans | diced tomatoes, undrained |
2 (6 ounce) cans | tomato paste |
1 medium | onion, diced |
1 cup | water |
½ medium | green bell pepper, chopped |
2 Tablespoons | brown sugar |
2 teaspoons | dried basil |
1 teaspoon | dried oregano |
¼ teaspoon | salt |
¼ teaspoon | black pepper |
⅛ teaspoon ground red pepper | |
3 | garlic cloves, minced |
1 beef flavored bouillon cube
Instructions
Cook meat in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned, stir and break meat up to crumble. Drain well. Place in a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Add tomato sauce and remaining ingredients. Cover with lid and cook on high setting 1 hour. Reduce to low heat and cook for 6 to 7 hours.
Notes
You may vary the meat of your choice, like turkey in addition to sausage instead of beef. Makes about 10 cups of sauce.
