1 Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix- follow direction on cake box. Preheat oven @ 350* Mix together all ingredients for cake spread into a greased 12 x 18 x 3/4 in. pan. Bake for 15 min. FILLING: | |

1/2 cup | butter |
1 1/2 cups | sugar |
1 1/2 cups | milk |
1/2 cup | Crisco shortening |
Cook 1 1/2 cups & 5 TBS flour until thick. Let cool. Then add that with 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup shortening & 1 1/2 cups sugar. Beat these all together on HIGH speed for 8-10 minutes. Until light and fluffy. Spread over top of cake to about 1/4 in from the edge of pan. ICING: | |

Combine chocolate squares & whipping cream in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 1-2 min. on high cream is very hot and the chocolate will be soft. Stir together. If chocolate is not melted all the way put back in microwave for 20 seconds more or until totally melted. It will look smooth and very shiny. Pour and spread with cake spatula over cake, letting it drip over the edges of the cake until it is set. Once it has stopped dripping smooth out the sides. Cover and chill. Overnight is best. But, several hours is okay. Yield: 12 generous pieces or maybe cut in to smaller pieces for a larger party.
