Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Vegetable Shortening
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 Cup White Sugar
1 Large Egg
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Cloves
1/4 Tsp. Nutmeg
Method:
Cream shortening, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well.
Sift to-gether flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 Degree F. for 8-10
minutes.
Yield: 3 Dozen Cookies.
Note: 6 T. Butter or margarine may be substituted for the vegetable shortening.
