200 g pkg | puff pastry |
1 1/2 cups | aged cheddar grated |
3 tbsp | parm |
3 dashes | Tabasco |
1 egg beaten with 1 tsp water to make an egg wash
Defrost puff pastry according to pkg, appox 2 hours at room temp or overnight in fridge. Preheat oven to 400. In a med bowl mix cheddar and parm. In a separate bowl mix egg wash and Tabasco. On a lightly floured work surface, roll puff pastry into a 14 inch square. Spread cheese on half of puff pastry, old over other half and roll out again to 14 inch square. Brush with egg wash.cup strips 3/4 inch wide, then lengthwise. Place strips on 2 cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 15 min or more. While first batch is cooking leave second batch in fridge. Bake for 12-15 until golden. Cool and store in airtight container. Can be frozen but if not crisp enough when thawed place in 150 oven for 10 min.
