      Cinnamon Rolls
01 24 12' WRITTEN BY CATHY0 COMMENTS When we went home for Christmas my mom made a fantastic meal for Christmas Eve dinner. We had standing rib roast with Yorkshire pudding, twice baked potatoes, a wonderful salad and other fantastic sides. She also made cinnamon rolls. My husband loved these cinnamon rolls. He has been on me since Christmas to get the recipe, so Sunday I called and got the recipe. It was one of those that are not written down, but one that you just know how to do. So I gave it a try and they turned out great! The only bad thing is that it made 10 rolls and I got 2, my husband got 2 and my son got 6! No fair!! 12 Rhodes frozen dough balls
    1 stick  butter
      Splenda
      Cinnamon
      Milk
      Powdered sugar
      Vanilla

Place 12 of the dough balls 2 inches apart in your pan. Brush tops with melted butter. Place a cloth over the top. Let rise for 2 to 3 hours. If your kitchen is cool you can heat your oven to warm and then turn it off. Leave the door open for about a minute and then put the pan in the oven. This will speed up the time it takes for them to rise. After they have risen to over double in size you take them out of the oven. Combine all the dough balls together to make one big ball. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle shape. Brush with about 3 tablespoons melted butter, sprinkle with Splenda and cinnamon. Roll up the dough like a jelly roll. Slice into individual cinnamon rolls. Mine made 10 instead of 12 because I didn’t cut them evenly. I had some really fat ones and some skinny ones. Place back in oven and let rise for another hour or so until they get to the size you want them. Remove from oven and remove towel. Bake at 325° for about 15 minutes.
For the icing you melt 3 tablespoons of butter mix in about a tablespoon of milk. Add some powdered sugar and stir. Add about a 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla. If your icing is too think add more milk and butter. If it is too runny add more powdered sugar. Mom didn’t really have exact measurements you just add things until it is right for you. I made a pretty big batch of the icing. My husband likes his sweet.
You can add chopped pecans, raisins, or anything else that sounds good.
